Circa 1901 SAVAGE ARMS Gun Powder Tin PRICED @ $750 O.B.O

Up for sale is an original CIRCA 1901  Gunpowder Tin that held 1 pound of black powder used specifically for SAVAGE ARMS ammunition.

This has been in my collection for 35 plus years. These items on my website have been for sale on ebay. If they don't sell right away I move them to my website

until the market changes or someone meets my asking price or they make a reasonable offer.

So my descriptions will be very similar to my ebay auctions so I can easily relist when I want to.

Here is a description and pictures.

Up for bid is a hard to find SAVAGE SMOKELESS RIFLE POWDER TIN. Exclusively made

for Savage Arms Co .303 caliber .30-30 caliber.

Circa 1901.  Nice Litho picture of the lever action rifles.

I haven’t tried to clean this tin. I’ll leave that up to the new owner.

RED & BLACK tin is stamped American Can Co 11A.

Info from the internet the American Can Company was formed in 1901

as a merger of many smaller competing firms into one large company.

11A indicates this was made at the Somers Brothers Factory in Brooklyn New York. So this tin was made around the same time of the merger.

Paper label is not a heavy stock. The right side is loose from the back..about ½ inch. Size is

6 x 3 ¾ x 1 5/8

Overall very good shape.  Litho is “tight” . No   signs of flaking….like you would see with a thinner litho….

INSIDE is super clean. Mirror silver finish. NO SIGNS of any rust inside. No signs of any gunpowder residue.

Ebay's closeup functions doesn't seem to work as well as the magnifying glasss utility did... JUST A TIP.... copy and paste the picture in PowerPoint and drag corners to enlarge picture

Please see pics as these are most of my description.

Check back often as I sometimes reduce my Buy It Now when no bids have been made after 2-3 days.

Questions Welcomed.

Item will be packed to arrive in advertised shape.
