Trick Advertising Padlock Novelty KANGAROO circa 1905 Lock

Up for bid is novelty trick padlock used to promote the advertising of a company.

This one with the KANGAROO I believe is a display model that maybe a salesman would have used to show a

potential company how they could advertise their wares stamped on this steel lock.

I have pictured an original add where this was advertised with the Kangaroo and the magazine is 1905.

Also stamped on the front is TRADE MARK REGISTRATION IN U.S. PATENT OFFICE APPLIED FOR.

You insert a nickel in body and the working key pushes against the coin which pushes

against the latch to open the shackle. Works fine. Just a novelty lock. Steel with brass rivets.
