Up for sale is an early American Padlock in the Scandinavian style lock. From research on internet

I believe this lock was made by Conrad Liebrich from Philadelphia Pennsylvania.

Another lock collector mentions that Conrad Liebrich was the founder of  STAR LOCK WORKS

who made trunk locks and padlocks. Star lock works was in business from 1836 to 1926.

I'm guessing this lock predates the Star Lock Works so dates around early 1830s.

Original Key is stamped 982 C. Liebrich as is the shackle.
 

Size is 3 3/4" x 2 3/4" x 2 1/8". Excellent shape. Works great.

Nice patina. Weighs in at almost 2 1/2 pounds.
