Up for Sale is a nice example of an English lock with the Barron’s Patent.

It’s my understanding that patent added LEVERS along with the already warded style security.

So the levers added another layer of security. 
 

Original ornate key. Dust cover is stamped with CROWN V.R. Barron’s Patent.   

V.R. stamped item which was for Victoria Regina and that dates from 1837 to 1901 Per Frank Arnall’s 6^th edition of the Padlock Collector.  

A very hard to find padlock with original key in very good condition.

Works great. Dust cover has a #3 stamped on top as does the Key on one side of the bow.

Lock weighs in over 2 pounds 13 oz. Approx. Size is 5 x 3 ¾    x 1 ¾ inch thick.   Shackle is .70” in diameter.
